The Glens Falls Hospital and community is in mourning today after it was learned that a nurse who works for the hospital was tragically struck and killed by a snow plow on Tuesday afternoon. The Glens Falls Police Department haven't released the name of the frontline hero yet, but some of her colleagues who work inside the hospital have commented on the loss and the devastating effect it had on them personally.

According to a report by News Channel 13, the unfortunate incident took place shortly after 5PM on Tuesday and the hospital, in deep mourning issued the following statement : “The hospital community is heartbroken and sends its prayers and positive energy to the family."

The Glens Falls Post Star shared the story from News Channel 13 on their Facebook page and received an outpouring of condolences and sympathy.  Some of the comments were from people who say they were inside the hospital and knew something horrible had happened.

Victoria Rexrode Franco is a registered nurse who works at the hospital and she wrote this on the Post-Star Facebook:

"My heart is broken! My love and prayers go out to our whole Glens Falls Hospital community! I was there in-house when I heard the call and I'm so so sorry this happened! Prayers from this nurse to another nurse--God help them rest in peace."

The report indicates that Glens Falls Police are currently investigating the details into her death and all they are saying now is that she was struck by a snow plow.
