1999- Garth Brooks' mother, Colleen, dies in Oklahoma of throat cancer.  Colleen Carroll had a recording career on Capitol Records in the 1950s, ironically the same label as her son.

Twins Peggy and Patsy Lynn, 1964.  The daughters of Loretta Lynn. They become a duo, The Lynns, earning a few award nominations, though they never achieve any mainstream radio hits.

Bob Morrison, 1942.  The legendary songwriter pens Johnny Lee's 'Lookin' For Love,' Kenny Rogers' 'You Decorated My Life' and Conway Twitty's 'Don't Call Him A Cowboy.'
