Gambler Wins $1,300 At Rivers Casino; Forfeits Winnings For Being Underage
If you won $1,300 bucks at Rivers you would be so pumped. Imagine having to turn that cash over after winning it?
That's what happened to Andrick Singh of Schenectady according to the Times Union. But, you will understand why he had to turn the cash over.
You see, he was underage but still got in to the casino to gamble on Valentine's Day. Which he probably would have gotten away with had he not won any money. But then he hit a $1,326 slot machine jackpot. And when he could not produce identification to claim his winnings, the casino figured out he was under age. The Times Union says he not only forfeited his winnings, but also got charged '...with criminal impersonation, criminal trespassing and unlawful possession of marijuana.' The bad news is Andrick never got his winnings, but I guess the good news is the charges will be dropped if he stays out of trouble for 6 months.
I have to confess, I am guilty of having done this a time or two. Before I was off age I once wiggled my way into a casino in Vegas, not to mention playing horses here and there at various tracks. I never thought I would be thankful I never won any money. Looking back now, i was lucky I did not!
