We all have the right to get out and vote today. In order to help with voter turnout, ride sharing companies are making it cheaper and easier to get to your local polling place. Here's how. According to WFMY, there are a few ways to take advantage of getting out to vote from the comfort of your smart phone and a promo code. Both Lyft and Uber offer discounts or free rides to your local polling places.

Through Vote.org and TurboVote, Lyft is offering fifty percent off for riders who want to get out and vote with Lyft's mobile app. All you need to do is find your promo code according to your zip code. You can enter it by clicking HERE.

The ride-sharing service, Uber, is doing something similar. They will offer ten dollars off one ride to your polling place today (Election Day). They have teamed up with #VoteTogether and Democracy Works. Depending on where you live, you will be offered the most affordable ride in your city. All you have to do is enter the promo code VOTE2018 in your Uber app to get the deal. You will then have to use Uber's "polling place locator" to find yours.

Voter turn-out was low in 2016 due to lack of transportation so these ride-share options are hoping to increase turnout.
