Earlier this year NBC announced they were going to create a series of two-hour TV movies based on different aspects of Dolly Parton's life.  And now we know the first of these movies will be based on Dolly's amazing song "Coat of Many Colors" about a little girl who has to wear rags because her family is so poor.

The movie will focus on how she grew up dirt poor in the mountains of Eastern Tennessee . . . but overcame the odds thanks to the love and faith of hertightknit family.  No word yet on an airdate.

The actual coat of many colors from Dolly's childhood is currently on display in Chasing Rainbows, a museum devoted to Parton at her theme park in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

Dolly may guest star in a couple of these films, but they will not be musicals.

I wonder who will play Dolly!?  Who would you cast?
