Protesting is your God-given right as an American. The right to freedom of assembly is clearly stated in the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, and has been used for the entirety of America's history.

Unfortunately, no matter what you're protesting, there will be folks who oppose you. That's also their right, but it's not their right to take certain actions like one New York man...

The Protest

On the morning of Saturday, January 10th, a group got together for a protest in LaFayette, N.Y. They gathered to protest against immigration policies in the U.S., and the increasing presence of ICE across America.

According to reports, they had gathered peacefully, just holding signs, having coffee, and chatting with other members at the gathering. Eventually, a large red truck began driving down the wrong side of the road, passing the group, but did nothing. Well, did nothing until...

Throwing the Head

The truck circled back around towards the group, and threw something at them. It was a severed deer head, not stuffed, not fake, but a real head of a deer that had been chopped off. While no one was hit by the projectile, the air amongst the group changed. They were visibly sickened by the act, and it succeeded in the intended effect of dispersing the protestors.

It's unclear whether this actually counts as a crime, or if it's just a wildly creative intimidation tactic, but local and State Troopers are beginning an investigation into the man, who is a local business owner in LaFayette.

LOOK! Before Demo-Abandoned Orange County Chopper HQs in Newburgh-TLC's 'American Chopper'

WARNING: Under no circumstances should you enter this property. By doing so you risk bodily harm and/or prosecution for trespassing on private property.
In 2003, a father-son business reality show hit the Discovery Channel. It was called American Chopper and it followed the custom motorcycle-building business of the Teutul family out of Newburgh, NY. Paul Sr. owned the shop with sons Paul Jr. and Mikey working in the business. There was a slew of cast and characters. The center of the show wasn't just the amazing custom motorcycles built for celebrities and others, it was the volatile relationship between Sr. and Jr. The show ran for 12 seasons before the two could no longer get along. It ended up in lawsuits and the two not talking for ten-plus years. In the past few years, the business moved to Florida. This left the 61,000-square-foot headquarters for sale and abandoned. Take a look at what remained of Orange County Choppers.
