Coxsackie Residents To Receive Generous Bill Relief
Here's to hoping the second half of 2020 - which started off on July 1st - is a little less chaotic and crazy than the first half of 2020. Residents who live in the Village of Coxsackie got some good news in the mail to kick it off as it was announced that they'd get relief from their water and sewer bill for the past 3 months.
In a story that aired on News Channel 13 on Monday, it was announced that residents in Village of Coxsackie were granted a one time "bill forgiveness" from paying their water and sewer costs. The quarterly bill covers water and sewer from March 31st through June according to the report.
The Mayor of Coxsackie proudly announced on the Village of Coxsackie Facebook page:
"through good fiscal oversight and management over the last several years we have reduced the Water/Sewer rates and our Water & Sewer Funds are in good enough shape that we are able to provide this one time relief."
While it's not exactly known how much money this saves residents, the Mayor told News Channel 13 that it's somewhere in the range of "hundreds of thousands of dollars."
According to Coxsackie Facebook page, a bill was sent out to residents but it will be marked "paid" and nothing will be owed for the last three months of service.
Coxsackie Mayor Mark Evans hopes this is a way to jumpstart some positive vibes moving forward stating on Facebook that, "as we start the second half of 2020, let's all hope it is a far cry better than the first half."
