Answer: As a songwriter Lionel Richie went to No. 1 by writing Kenny Rogers' 1980 hit 'Lady.'  In 1984, he appeared on Country Radio with the crossover smash 'Stuck On You,' which landed him at a modest 24 on the charts. Then, in 1986, Lionel Richie went to the Top 10 on the Billboard Country charts with 'Deep River Woman', featuring Alabama.

Lionel has recently returned to the scene with a new 'Country' duets album titled 'Tuskegee,' named after his hometown in Alabama. The project features duets of his biggest hits with Blake Shelton, Little Big Town, Kenny Rogers, Rascal Flatts, Shania Twain, Willie Nelson and more.
