Company Looking to Fill 600 Local Seasonal Jobs
Many people in the Capital Region are looking for work and with the holidays around the corner, there is an increase for seasonal workers. This Friday, there is a company holding a job fair that wants to fill over six hundred local jobs. Here are the details. According to News 10 ABC, UPS is hoping to increase its workforce and hire six hundred seasonal employees in the Capital Region. They are holding a job fair Friday, October 30th. You can apply either in person or virtually.
UPS is one of the leading package delivery companies in the country and locally, they will need to fill six hundred positions to help with the demand for the holiday season. They are hiring all positions including driver helpers, package handlers, and seasonal drivers. There is some incentive too. Last year over thirty-seven percent of their seasonal employees were hired permanently.
If you are interested in one of these positions, you can apply in person at 24 Avis Drive in Latham from 9 am until 3 pm on Friday. You can also apply during their virtual hiring fair which will take place Friday from 10 am until 3 pm. If you do apply in person, you must wear a mask, wait outside, and social distance. In many cases, candidates are hired on the spot.
This UPS job fair is one way to find a job to make some extra cash for the holidays or to find work if you have lost your job during the pandemic. It's nice to hear that a large company is hiring during these crazy times.
