It can be very expensive to attend college and now New York state is making it more affordable for veterans by waiving the application fees. According to CBS 6 News, Governor Andrew Cuomo said that the application fees for City University of New York (CUNY) and State University of New York school systems (SUNY) for veterans and their spouses.

The hope is that the change will allow families to take the next steps in getting back into civilian life and help with costs to apply for colleges. The application fees for SUNY and CUNY schools range from fifty to sixty-five dollars per application.

At the next board meetings for both CUNY and SUNY schools, the Board of Trustees will include this resolution that will be implemented for change. There are many state and city schools across New York to choose from and all will adopt the resolution to waive application fees for veterans and their spouses.
