Cohoes Community Center To Reopen Soon

Families were devastated when the Cohoes Community Center closed abruptly back in October of 2018. Now the building has been sold and may reopen in the next few months. There is a new owner of the Cohoes Community Center and according to Spectrum News, the facility will be repurposed and reopened soon. There are big plans for the shuttered building. The new owners will call it Gateway Sports Complex and Pools and it should be open by spring.

If you check out their website, they will offer swim classes, learn to swim programs, and sports programs. They are also looking to hire lifeguards, swim instructors, and sports instructors. They plan on operating the complex as a non-profit.

According to Mayor Keeler, the new owner hopes to have five hundred to one thousand members and bring in all new equipment. The mayor is excited to have the building reopen to be able to serve the community again.
