Beloved Capital Region Brewery Closing Its Taproom-Celebration Planned
A Capital Region brewery and tap room has decided to close its doors because they are expanding.
Fans of SingleCut Brewsmiths got some disappointing news. The brewery announced on Facebook that its Clifton Park taproom will close to the public on Saturday, December 13th. The post explained that SingleCut has outgrown its current space and needs to utilize the taproom area for beer and beverage production instead.
In the post, the brewery wrote, “This new business model requires a greater scope of machinery that occupies a significantly larger footprint.” In short, they need every bit of space to keep brewing.
The announcement drew hundreds of reactions and comments from loyal customers; many shared how much they would miss the taproom and the live music at Side Stage. Others suggested new spots the brewery could move to, hoping the closure won’t be forever.
According to the Daily Gazette, operations manager Teresa Campbell said there are no immediate plans for a new location, but didn’t rule out future possibilities. She also shared that the outpouring of support has been incredible and that most of the staff will stay on through the final day.
Before closing, SingleCut plans to celebrate with live music, new brews, and a vinyl record pop-up party on December 13th. Fans can still find their beer through Sarene Distributing across the Capital Region and beyond.
The Clifton Park taproom may be closing, but SingleCut isn’t going anywhere—it’s just brewing up its next chapter.
