Chelsea Handler to Leave Her Late Night Talk Show

"Chelsea Lately" has been a staple on E! since July, 2007, but now there's word that the show's host, Chelsea Handler is leaving.

Her final show will be an hour long special on August 26, 2014.  The network will run new episodes nightly until the finale.

When Chelsea signs off in August it will be the first time in 7 years that there won't be a female in representing in the late night talk format.

Starting August 27, an updated version of E! News will air in the network’s 11 p.m. time slot.  And, according to insiders, they are actively developing new late night ideas.

There is another late night opening on a network, though!  CBS hasn't announced a replacement for Craig Ferguson, who announced his plans to leave earlier this month.
