Song Parody

I was definitely affected by a story we covered the other day about a task force set out to make Halloween costumes less offensive. I'm definitely on board with this.  We are not sensitive enough these days.

I can't say enough about the Northeast String Orchestra   I could do a blog per day for the next week about them.   I'm about to take you there with audio and photos, because this is REAL talent, folks, and I want to tell the world about them.

This is a song parody about the Ashley Madison Website scandal that I performed live on the air and we recorded video of this incident as it happened.   It features Dave Scriven on guitar.   I thought it might be interesting to show what it's like in the studio as it happens, so here goes.

I'm not exactly sure what the issue was here, but I'm told that you guys need some "love".  What better way to show you that than with the personalized song about your town?  Of course, I'm going to need some help!

This is a blast for me - to be able to create a song for a special mother.  And this is definitely a special one (and she's getting a great gift from ProFlowers.com to boot.)

I hope  you are not forgetting – Mother's Day is coming this Sunday, May 10th.   We wanted to do something special here at the radio ranch, along with long time sponsor - ProFlowers.com.  Here's what we came up with

Well, our first College Week stop was a ton of fun at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy.  There was a little of everything - music, games, students who dropped by - the whole 9.  The only thing missing?  A theme song. So I gave it a shot

I'm not sure how many of the huge number of residents of Quaker Springs, NY  will enjoy this, but I sure hope they do!

I saw this in the Times Union recently. There's an entire list of road construction jobs that are continuing in Capital District that you might want to pay attention to.  One of them is the Patroon Island Bridge in Albany.  I decided to warn you musically.

This class had a certain spark.  Actually I should capitalize that.  SPARK.  That's actually a bad pun, but it's the name of a fantastic initiative taken on by Mayfield Elementary School. When you hear what SPARK stands for, you'll know why

Sometimes you're a karaoke bar star, and other times it just doesn't work out. A lot of it is song choice. And boy did I pick the wrong one.

Have you noticed it?  Maybe it's just me, but this might be the worst year ever for divits in the road.  I think I'm going to need my wheels AND my neck aligned from all the holes I've met in my recent travels, and we've only  just begun.
