Three local teens are properly being praised for their quick thinking when they came to the rescue of a man who may have been moments away from drowning in Collins Lake in Scotia on Tuesday.

A mom who gave birth to a massive 15lbs, 5oz  baby told reporters, "I knew she was gonna be big, but I didn't anticipate no 15 pound baby!"  Those are the words of a New York mom who gave birth to a record setting baby girl on March 12th.

Over the weekend, I took my 3-and-a-1/2-year-old son Brody to play in the snow at Albany's Washington Park.  It was his first time out in the snow with me, like really playing.  It was a week of firsts for him, but it needed to be a week of firsts for me as well.  I needed some perspective, and I found it this morning.

When I was in middle school, it was a chore to get me to clean my bedroom let alone the bathroom.  To be honest, it still is.  Major props to these local middle school kids who brought a little hard work and creativity and worked together to give their school a cool looking bathroom makeover.
