1991- George Strait's single 'You Know Me Better Than That' is at No. 1 on the Billboard country chart.

 1985-  The super group of  Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash and Kris Kristofferson appear at No. 1, under the name Highwaymen, with the song 'Highwayman.'  The Grammy winning song is penned by Jimmy Webb. 
 
1977- Steve Wariner has his first recording session, cutting 'I'm Already Taken' at RCA Studio B. The studio is filled with reporters wanting to interview producer Chet Atkins about Elvis Presley's death, who had died the day before.  'I'm Already Taken' only reaches No. 63 in 1978, but is re-released in 1999 and peaks at No. 3 for three weeks.
