Mid-Week Storm Bringing Snow To The Capital Region
After a brief January thaw to wrap up last week, Old Man Winter is ready to make his presence known this week.
Yes, a little winter reprieve was welcomed last week with a few days reaching the mid to high 40s, but we knew that was fool's gold. The cold weather is back, and later this week, some snow will arrive to go with it.
Capital Region Forecast: Snow Arrives Thursday Night
According to the latest News Channel 13 First Warning Forecast, a fresh storm will arrive in the Capital Region on Wednesday afternoon, starting as rain as temperatures will be in the lower 40s. Overnight Thursday, a cold front will move through the area with rain changing to snow before dawn on Thursday morning. 1 to 3 inches of snow is expected for the morning commute.
Areas west and north of Albany, like Cobleskill and Saratoga Springs, will see the higher range of snow accumulation. Drier conditions will develop later Thursday, with temperatures in the 20s.
News Channel 13 says we can expect more dry weather on Friday with highs in the 30s, followed by temps in the 30s on Saturday and high 20s on Sunday with snow showers possible through the weekend.
