BREAKING: U Albany Police Report Armed Robbery and Abduction On Campus!
Breaking News out of Albany today as multiple sources are reporting a memo sent out by University of Albany police warning students and faculty about an alleged armed robbery and abduction that took place Monday afternoon at around 5:15 PM on the school's campus.
Here's what we know so far:
- The incident was first reported on the Instagram page of BarstoolAlbany, who posted the memo sent out by University police on Monday afternoon.
- The memo states that the alleged incident took place on the Uptown Campus near the I-90 entrance after a couple told police they pulled into the campus to change a flat tire.
- According to the post, while the couple was tending to the tire, they were approached by two males - one of whom displayed a handgun and demanded their valuables.
- During the robbery, a young child was taken from the car and the men fled the scene.
- The couple called 911 and pursued the vehicle for a short time, and thankfully m according to the post by BarstoolAlbany, the suspect stopped their vehicle, placed the child on the side of the road, and drove away.
- The suspect's vehicle is described as a silver sedan, maybe an Infiniti or a Lexus.
In a strange turn of events, it's also being reported by the UA Police that the couple who called in the incident did not want to cooperate with police after their child was returned to safety, and the couple, according to the report, left the scene.
