The City of Cohoes Fire and Police departments as well as the New York State police have confirmed they found a body under the 112th Street Bridge in Cohoes on Monday morning.

As of this time, the body has not yet been identified but according to News 10 ABC, the remains of the body, confirmed to be male, were discovered in the Hudson River underneath the 112th Street Bridge in Cohoes.

Sources say that City of Cohoes Fire Department, New York State Police, and the Cohoes Police Department were all working together to attempt to identify the body early on Monday when it was discovered at 7a.m.

News 10 ABC speculated that there may be a possible connection between the body recovered on Monday morning and a story it reported over the weekend about a possible drowning.   The news on Saturday appeared to be grim for a 77-year-old man who "had entered the (Hudson) river to swim, went under the water and failed to resurface." The emergency call on Saturday night was handled by the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s office and multiple agencies responded taking part in the search.

Authorities have not specified if the body discovered today was in fact that of the previously mentioned Schaghticoke man, but more information will become public as the day goes on.
