There is a story coming out of Tennessee that should have all of us concerned in New York State. If this is happening there, it's probably happening here and your kids lives, and the lives of all your loved ones, could be in danger. That money on the ground could be holding the deadly drug fentanyl.

According to Tennessee's Giles County Sheriff Department, there have been at least 2 incidents where a folded dollar bill had been picked up off the floor of a gas station, saw a white powdery substance inside and turned it over to police. Testing revealed that the substance was fentanyl.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, (CDC), reports that fentanyl is an opioid which is potentially 100 times stronger than morphine. Fentanyl is intended to help patients that are in severe pain.

If not prescribed and taken with doctors guidance, fentanyl can be deadly. Statistics show that fentanyl-related death are typically linked to fentanyl made illegally. The counterfeit drug often hits the streets mixed with heroin and/or cocaine for a bigger high. Now it appears the drug could be hitting the floor as well. Don't pick up that dollar.
