A popular Halfmoon BBQ joint is calling it a day.

There has been no shortage of retail outlets and restaurants announcing local closings recently. Many of these have been national chains going through bankruptcy proceedings or financial restructuring.

In the case of a local Halfmoon restaurant, it's refreshing to hear its the owners making a positive choice to start the next chapter of their lives.

Rollin' Smoke In Clifton Park To Close Up Shop This Weekend

After 5 years in business, the owners of Rollin' Smoke on Route 9 in Halfmoon have revealed that Saturday, March 8th will be their final day in business.

In an announcement on Facebook, owners Rob and Amy Carmel said "We were presented with an offer from another restaurant group to buy us out and as a small family-owned and operated business and after a lot of sleepless nights of pondering, we have decided to accept the offer and move forward to the next chapter of our lives!"

While the owners could not reveal who purchased the eatery, they did comment it is a restaurant out of Albany that will open a 2nd location at the Rollin' Smoke spot.

Through its closing Saturday, Rolln' Smoke said on Facebook it will show appreciation to all its customers and supporters "with...the most ridiculous deals you can imagine!"
