Believe It or Not, These Are Laws

Did you know in New York it is illegal to wear slippers after 10 p.m.?

Sounds crazy, but it's true. And New York state is not the only place with wacky laws. The Times Union recently compiled a list of the craziest laws in each of the 50 states. Some of my favorites:

• In Alabama, it's illegal to wear a fake mustache that causes laughter in church. (So if it is not funny it's ok?)
• In Florida, if an elephant is left tied to a parking meter, the parking fee has to be paid just as it would for a vehicle (this makes sense as an elephant would take a whole spot—I never knew elephants were all over the place in Florida).
• In Iowa, one-armed piano players must, by law, perform for free. This is just unfair - they have to work twice as hard!
