Ballgame to benefit local family
The 'Saratoga Horses' which is made up of Saratoga County police officers, firefighters, and other first responders, will gather to play a game of baseball to help a local family after a deadly fire at their home.
Local firefighters were on the scene the night of the fire and told News 10 ABC 'immediately they knew this ballgame would be a benefit for the family.' The Broadbent family lost family member Eric Edwards. Eric was one of 10 adopted children who lived with Glen and Janet Broadbent.
The game is scheduled for June 9th at 7 pm at the East Side field in Saratoga against the Ottawa Fire Department. The goal is to raise $10,000.
The community has come together to help the family. Neighbors have set up a Facebook page, Broadbent Family Fire Relief, as well as a GoFundMe account.
More information on the game and the activities before and during the game to benefit the family can be found on the Saratoga Horses Facebook page.
