Another Future Gem Planned For Schenectady
The city of Schenectady has been having some negative publicity lately, but when things like this end up on the drawing board, I think it’s a step in a positive direction.
Some realtors got together on Thursday, about a project that will feature a large, very attractive harbor and redevelopment of some property in the Electric City.
There was a story in the Daily Gazette, about building on the former Alco property, near Erie Boulevard. The plan is to build apartments and condos, a pedestrian walkway, bicycle path, and more. Some of the condos will have balconies designed so the tenants can look over the harbor.
The first floor will have retail space. It’s a plan that will complement all of the changes that have been going on in the downtown area. The design plan is also meant to reduce the chance of any flooding from the river.
