Andrew Cuomo Has One Last Wish For New York State

Today was Andrew Cuomo's final day as the Governor of the State of New York. This was after Cuomo announced two weeks ago that he would resign as his position of Governor after numerous allegations from former staffers and one current staffer who accused him of sexual harassment and inappropriate conduct.

Lt. Governor Kathy Hochul will be sworn in as the new Governor of New York at 12 am on Tuesday morning.

Cuomo held one final press conference on Monday afternoon, and he talked about how he worked hard for New Yorkers while in office, even though he did not get everything done that his regime wanted to or even "should have gotten done."

Cuomo also had one final word of advice that he felt should happen in New York moving forward. That is to have proof of vaccination for large gatherings in the state and that teachers "should" get vaccinated.

He also thanked New Yorkers for the honor of serving the state.

Cuomo, who is 63, did not allude to what he plans to do after he leaves office on Tuesday. He did officially file for retirement last week and will be effective September 1st, according to WIVB.

His annual pension benefit is estimated to be $50,000.
