A popular local chicken wing spot that closed a little over a year ago, will re-open soon with new owners and the wings and menu look awesome!

The ever popular chicken wing restaurant 'Wings Over Albany' which was located at 1704 Western Avenue in Albany shut down without notice back in December of 2018.

But have no fear, a new wing spot is here - or at least coming soon.   According to a post on Albany Reddit, the owners of the mainly New York State based franchise 'Atomic Wings' will be taking over the vacated spot left empty when WOA left.

According to the Table Hopping blog on the Times Union website, the new owners plan to open up Atomic Wings on April 6th.

According the report, their grand opening (from 11am-1pm)  will feature some deals on their waffle fries and grand prize raffles of flat-screen TV's and a chance to win free wings for an entire year.

According to their website, "Atomic Wings was originally conceived in 1981.  Their founder couldn’t find the hot, crispy wings that he savored during his college years in Buffalo.  So, he spent several years perfecting the process, recipe, and art behind the perfect chicken wing, and in 1989 he was able to open the first Atomic Wings location in New York City.
