Albany Police Dig Out Residents After Snowmageddon
Shoutout to the Albany Police Department once again going above and beyond the call of duty during the massive snowstorm that dumped two feet of snow on the Capital Region. In a series of tweets by Albany Police Chief Eric Hawkins, 6 or 7 officers were seen digging, throwing, burrowing, and plowing their way through heaping mounds of the white stuff as local residents greatly appreciated the effort.
Who could forget just over one year ago when the Albany Police digged out a distressed 99-year-old woman barricaded inside her house by over over a foot of snow in Albany. The pictures ultimately went viral after it was shared on the Albany police Facebook page and then picked up by People Magazine. That storm, was just a little guy in comparison to the avalanche we got Wednesday night well into Thursday afternoon.
