Thursday, August 16, 2012 marks 35 years since we lost Elvis Presley.  There are numerous Elvis impersonators all over the country, with some of the best located right here in the Northeast.

Donald Romines, from the Albany area, will be joining me on the Captain JP Country and Elvis Cruise on Thursday, August 16 for a great night of music and fun.  Ironically, the event will take place on the 35th anniversary of the death of Elvis Presley, who died in 1977 at the age of 42.  We took a moment to ask Romines about his life as 'Elvis.'

How long have you played the role of Elvis?
25yrs.

What's an interesting fact that you like to share about Elvis during your show?
His vocal range and how generous he was.

What's your favorite Elvis song and why?
'The Wonder Of You' is up there, but i like all of them.

If Elvis were alive today, do you think he'd still be having hits and selling out shows?
Yes about the hits, and Elvis would be busy in someway. He liked to help people and sing his heart out.

Have you ever been to Graceland and what was the most interesting thing you've seen there?
Yes, 5 times. If you take your time on the tour and read all the charities that he give to without a tax break. Also, he would read the morning paper and if someone was going to lose their house from back taxes, he would pay if off and no one ever knew who did it.
