Back in February, a popular mom-and-pop style Italian restaurant with outstanding food and classic ambiance announced they'd be closing their doors for a few days as crews from the Hallmark Channel would be moving in and taking over.

It came as no surprise to anyone from the Capital Region that a place like Defazio's in Troy would be home to a Christmas film set in the 1950s.

"Our import store will be closed this Thursday, 2/3, while it is being used for part of a Hallmark movie production, as an Italian market in NYC in the 1950s!! Stop in our pizzeria that day if you need any of our homemade pasta, sauces, Pecorino Romano, or meatballs. We expect an increase in pizza volume that day, so get your orders in early!" -Defazio's Troy Facebook

The Hallmark Channel is known for scheduling themed programming around major holidays such as Christmas, Mother's Day, and Valentine's Day, including new original movies relevant to the season.

Back in 2009, it introduced its "Countdown to Christmas" and each year, they make new films to add to its growing list of new holiday favorites.

What Hallmark Christmas movie was filmed at Defazio's in Troy and when will it air?

According to the Hallmark Channel, the Xmas movie filmed in Troy is called A Holiday Spectacular and it's scheduled to premiere on Sunday night November 27th at 8 pm.

Set in 1958, an heiress named Maggies "puts her high-society wedding plans on hold in order to sneak up to New York City and make her secret dream come true."
