OK, I don't want this to get around, but I have something deeply personal to tell you.  I LOVE THIS JOB!   Who else is lucky enough to be able to act like an idiot and get paid for it, meet superstars AND up-and-coming ones, and just be around music 24-7?  Here's a good example of music "breaking out" in the building when you least expect it! I was walking down the big WGNA hallway and bossman Jake Thomas asked me if I'd like to come in and listen to this new group in the conference room.  They were here for a typical radio tour that comes around here once in awhile.

Well, I try whenever I can to pop my head in and listen.  (hey--fellow musicians have to stick together, right?)  Plus I harken back to a time when another band came around to demo their material when we were at the Latham Circle Mall.  They sat in the conference room and I was lucky enough to sit in and hear them play their new hit called "AMAZED".  Yes, it was Lonestar!!!

So I stayed, listened and fully enjoyed the sound emanating from 3 guitarists and a guy playing drums on  a wine box! (certainly looked that way, at least)  They are the Adam Craig Band.  Great vocals, great rootsy country music.  I felt like I was on a back porch somewhere instead of a room with a conference table.  But you have to work with what you have!

Luckily, I had my handy-dandy phone with me to take some video.  I was going to edit this and put titles and logos in, but....naahhh!  I want it to look as earthy and downhome as the way it was presented to us. This is a clip from their new song "Nothin' Wrong" .

The music business is such a crapshoot.  We've seen many unlikely candidates make it HUGE, and some other extremely talented ones fall off the face of the earth.

Hell, what do I know?  But I'd say they are more the former than the latter---except I would change the word "unlikely" to likely.  Nice guys and a great sound.  Maybe we'll see them someday  at a WGNA event!  "Nothin' Wrong" with these guys!!!
