Boy in New York goes Missing During a School Event at Night
There are few details surrounding this missing teen bulletin sent out on Thursday by members of the New York State Police - but the urgency is clear and the search is on for a young boy out in Western New York who was last seen on Wednesday night at a school function. Anyone with any information about him is asked to call 585-398-4100 or 911.
Missing Teen in Upstate/Western New York!
This is from the New York State Police, released on Thursday morning:
- The State Police is looking for a missing teen, John Abrams, age 14, from Honeoye.
- He was last seen on Wednesday, January 4, at the Bloomfield Elementary School for a school event.
- John is described as 5'05", 140 pounds, with brown hair, and brown eyes.
- Anyone with information on his location is asked to call the State Police at 585-398-4100 or 911.
Aside from a brief description of the young boy and his latest whereabouts, little is known. State Police did say that Abrams was last seen at a school event, but didn't specify the time of day he went missing or a potential reason.
Do neighbors know more about the missing teenager?
A Facebook post by a concerned resident out in Bloomfield County (about 3 hours west of Albany) alerted neighbors of a missing child, encouraging them to look everywhere including their own backyard where he may be hiding out.
Holly Van Sile Lovejoy, a resident of Bloomfield County, alleges that Abrams was at a basketball game on Wednesday evening when he became "angry" and "ran away".
"Bloomfield residents please check your yards/garage sheds this boy was angry and ran from the basketball game last night at about 7:30 !! Mike and I helped search last night with no luck! I am sure he is cold and scared and no matter what the reason he ran he is a child who needs help!!" -Facebook
