After Monday's eclipse, we are already looking forward to the next full solar eclipse in just under 7 years, and the next one will be much different in Upstate New York.

Everyone is still buzzing about Monday's solar eclipse and it turns out you won't have to wait too long to see the next one! Even better, the next one will be a really big deal in the state of New York.

Mark the date on your calendar: the next solar eclipse will take place April 8, 2024. While we got to experience this eclipse, New York was not in what Accuweather calls the 'path of totality.' It got a little darker here, but the moon did not completely block out the Sun like in other parts of the country. According to Accuweather, the 'path of totality' will run from Texas to Maine during the 2024 eclipse and New York will be in that path. Meaning, the area will go completely dark during the eclipse!

So, while we got the partial eclipse experience today the moon will completely block the sun here in the Capital Region on April 8, 2024!
