A 16-year-old boy who was spending the night with some friends Saturday is now being called a hero, although he’s not really comfortable with that title.

Two buildings in The Fenimore Trace Apartment complex, in Watervliet, were on fire Friday morning.

Authorities are reporting that a gas tanker has crashed on Route 7 in Hoosick and is on fire. This is all too familiar for residents of the area, as this same thing happened nearly two years ago in March 2011 - and it happened in almost exactly the same spot on NY Route 7, just beyond the junction of NY Route 22.

Just last week the City of Albany had some troubles with underground electrical fires and exploding manhole covers. It appears that the City of Troy has inherited the same problem. Police have started to evacuate residents and businesses near Federal Street & Fifth Ave. According to the Troy Record Twitter feed, police are advising to not park on manhole covers.
