Reading, Writing, & Rhyming

I worked with some "saints" recently from the All Saints Academy in Albany.  These first grade kids were creative, lively and ready to have fun while they spread the message of "peace."  In fact that they even created a peaceful parody of "Rudolf The Red Nosed Reindeer."

I had a great time was very enthusiastic group of kids at the Sand Creek Middle School in Albany.  From the way they put the song together, they certainly are definitely leaders.  In fact, that's the subject of the tune, coincidentally. They even did a music video!

What an awesome class!  These guys were ready to sing about their town.  It came out so well, I'm going to use it as my Your Town Thursday song for this week as well!

I always appreciate getting letters about the school program – especially from the kids.  I thought I would share some of these cute and touching letters.

This was definitely a challenge, and I mean that in a positive way.  I actually didn't sleep the night before worrying that I was going to fail miserably.  How do you rhyme Spanish words when you don't know Spanish?  GULP.  Mrs. Gordon's class to the rescue!

I had yet ANOTHER great experience - this time in Gloversville (Sean's old stomping ground).  The school? Kingsborough Elementary School.  The age?  A mixed group of K-5, and extremely creative. I have proof below!

We would like to start a WGNA army of people who are determined to help fight a war-one that seems to have no end in sight. Do you want to add your name to a growing list of people who will do what they can to spread the anti-bullying message? Only takes a minute!

Ok, get ready Saratoga, Schoharie, Schenectady, Rennselaer, and Albany Counties!  You have childen in your schools who are so upset about bullying that they are willing to sing about it!  Here is their (and my) labor of love!

I would certainly be appreciative if everyone tuned in with her kids on Wednesday morning to hear what these five Capital Region schools have collectively written about the perils of bullying.

Another great school, another great teacher, another group of kids who hate bullying.  They have joined my quest to create one HUGE anti-bullying song

This is heartbreaking. Florida teenager Rebecca Sedwick committed suicide over an alleged bullying incident. She jumped off a silo according to CNN.com.  She would have been 13. Her mother posted a birthday message on Facebook that she would like you to read.

Great class!  Really inventive minds! I felt like I didn't do a thing - they whipped this one up in no time flat.  That's because these third graders from Mrs. Lynch's class  are great leaders. They are so great, in fact - they wrote a song about it!
