I've lived in Schenectady my whole life and somethings are staple. The buildings, the monuments, and our radio & news stations. I was clicking around the internet when I found a crazy blast from the past from WRGB.

WRGB is one of the first television stations in the entire country and you can trace its roots back as early as 1928 when it broadcasted out of General Electric in Schenectady, with its call letters being the initials of a General Electric engineer at the time, according to Wikipedia. Since then, WRGB has grown to the local news power it is today.

When I was looking around the internet for something to post, I found on Reddit this amazingly dated promotional package from WRGB Together TV 6 & You from 1978. It includes a news theme, fall theme, winter theme, promo package and a Fall Preview program.

Sit back for about 5 minutes and enjoy looking at what the 518 looked like at the end of the 1970s. I don't know who posted this, but thank you for this throwback. You should not only recognize the buildings but some of our favorite news people. It's incredible just how many people are either still on the news (you can still find Liz Bishop on WRGB) or are considered legendary. How many people and places can you recognize?
