One of my first jobs was working at the Saratoga Race Course when I was sixteen. Not only did I get a job there, but there were also many of my teachers that also worked at the track during the summer. If you are interested, NYRA is holding a job fair on June 11th and 12th according to News 10 ABC.

There are a ton of different jobs available for this summer's meet. The Saratoga Track season runs from Thursday, July 15th through Monday, September 6th. You can apply for jobs as hospitality ambassador, parking and admission attendants, box office, white caps/ushers (this is where I worked when I had a job at the track), Bets Squad reps, betting clerks, porters, security, cleaners, TV production, and more. The interviews will be held in the Events Pavillion at the Saratoga Race Course from 10 am until 6 pm on Friday, June 11th, and from 9 am until 2 pm on Saturday, June 12th.

The Saratoga Race Course has jobs for applicants as young as fifteen as long as they show proof of their New York State Certified Working Papers. You must be at least eighteen to apply for a security guard, cashier, or betting clerk position.

Working at the Saratoga Race Course was one of my favorite summer jobs. My sisters also worked there. My one sister worked the popcorn stand and my other sister was also an usher. It's a great place to start if you have a teenager who is looking to make extra money while experiencing the fun and excitement of Saratoga in the summer.
