Winter Storm Landon Could Dump Almost A Foot Of Snow In Greater Albany
Possible snowfall totals for later this week are starting to come into focus and we could finally end up having our first BIG snowfall of the season.
With every other impending storm we have gotten this year, we have started off with the potential for big snow. But as each storm inched its way to Upstate New York those snowfall estimates all went down and we ended up getting barely any snow. With this storm, it looks like we are finally bucking that trend!
This is great news for all the winter sports lovers - nothing beats fresh, nature-made powder when it comes to getting outdoors to enjoy all that winter in Upstate New York has to offer. And hey, if you hate snow, you have had it pretty easy this winter. So suck it up this week for all of us who would love a big winter snowstorm, deal?
What Is The Latest Forecast & Snowfall Estimates For The Albany Area?
As we head into the next few days, here's what we can expect from Landon according to the Weather Channel:
- The winter weather will arrive after 12am Thursday starting off as a mix of sleet and freezing rain.
- This storm will shift to all snow Thursday night with 5 to 8 inches falling overnight
- With highs in the 20's Friday we can expect another 1 to 3 inches of accumulation
- When all is said and done it looks like anywhere from 6 to 11 inches of snow for the Capital Region
