In the wake of the tragedy of Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gigi, I couldn't help but think of how my dad was the ultimate girl dad. Kobe Bryant had four daughters and was often asked when he was going to have a son so he could carry on his legacy. Kobe's daughter, Gigi would often say that she is would be the one to do just that. Kobe also said that he wouldn't have it any other way.

This really made me realize how my own dad was the ultimate girl dad. My dad had three daughters. My sister Nancy and I played all sports and my sister Michele was a cheerleader. He was involved in all of our activities. I spent a million hours watching sports with my dad. He taught me everything I know. I am now fluent in baseball, basketball, football, golf, and every other sport with a ball you can imagine. It was all because of the time I spent with my dad playing and talking about sports and life.

My dad never missed a day to tell me how proud he was of me. Actually of all three of "his girls". He would often embarrass me when meeting anyone new. I was an All-American soccer goalie in college and my dad would always introduce me as, "Chrissy, my All-American daughter".

I feel very blessed to have had a "girl dad". I know my dad wouldn't have had it any other way. He passed away in February of 2018 and I cherish every moment with my dad, the ultimate #GirlDad.
