Ben Church is a 6th grader in Wampsville... in central NY and he recently needed stitches after three 8th graders ganged up on him on the way home from school.

“One of them punched him in the face, then they stood and watched him bleed and cry before walking away. All because Ben would not walk on the other side of the road.,” said his mom, Misty Church.

Our sister station, Big Frog 104 in Utica decided to do something to help Ben and his mom raise awareness about bullying.

And, since today, Monday October 3rd is Blue Shirt Day for National Bullying Prevention and Awareness month they decided to #GoBlueForBen to help Misty and Ben with their effort to #StompOutBullying.

Here's Ben's story -

When Raelynn opened for Blake Shelton the other night at the Times Union Center, I told her about Ben's story and she wanted to do something to help.

So, she recorded this little message for him!  It's so sweet!  And the response of Ben and his mom is so perfect!  I teared up when I saw it!

I'm so proud of our friends Tad and Polly at Big Frog for putting together such a cool campaign for Ben and his mom!
