Song parodies.  I've loved them since I was a kid.  Love hearing them and love writing them more!. Alan Sherman started my love affair in the 60's with song parodies.  When I was a kid, this was a huge hit.  It was everybody's favorite camp song "Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah", a parody of a classical tune called "Dance of the Hours"

Al Yankovic is on a roll. He has parodied everyone from Michael Jackson to …well, whoever!  And that  brings me to his newest release- "Mandatory Fun".  In it, he parodies the likes of Robin Thicke (Blurred Lines), Miley Cyrus, One Direction and Pharrell Williams.   Here's one of them.

Hysterical.  Unfortunately, he doesn't parody a lot of country songs.  (Gee, I wonder who's around to take up the slack?)

By the way, if you like his latest, you'll LOVE the top 10 Weird Al Parodies.  Enjoy!

Weird Al - thanks for staying weird all these years and keeping parodies alive!
