Local Residents Report Eerie Encounters After Chazy Lake UFO Sighting

A strange report from Northern New York about mysterious blue orbs generated plenty of interest, but the stories that followed were even more fascinating.

After we shared the account of a man who claimed he encountered unexplained objects near Chazy Lake, readers across Upstate New York began sharing their own experiences.

And there were tons of them.

Strange Lights Over Chazy Lake

The original report that we posted came from the Dannemora area on September 16th.

According to an eyewitness report submitted to the National UFO Reporting Center, a man who identified himself as military claimed he saw unusual blue orbs near Chazy Lake.

The witness described the objects as approximately the size of a pickup truck and said they moved around the lake, hovered, and eventually shot straight upward.

According to his account, the entire encounter lasted about two minutes.

This eyewitness claim has not been independently verified. But once we shared the story, people from all over Upstate New York started telling us they'd seen strange objects, too, and we got hundreds of comments.

Upstate New Yorkers Share Their Own Stories

• One person claimed to have seen two orbs near Lake Delta, while another described an object hovering over Oneida Lake on three consecutive days.
• Another said he and his wife witnessed something similar in Canandaigua.
• One person claimed to have watched an orb near Albany International Airport for nearly an hour.
• There were multiple reports from Lake George, including people who said they witnessed unexplained objects in the area and one person who claimed to have captured something unusual on a dashcam.
• A Galway resident described seeing something strange over their home in broad daylight.
• Claims also came from around Cayuga Lake, North Creek, and Route 22 near Dresden.
• A reader in Gloversville described seeing blue orbs floating down the street before suddenly shooting straight up into the sky.

So What Are People Seeing?

That's the million-dollar question. Seeing an unexplained light in the sky doesn't necessarily mean something from another world is visiting us.

Drones, airplanes, satellites, Starlink, the International Space Station, atmospheric conditions, or even an optical illusion could be what people are seeing.
