Mom Arrested for Leaving Child Alone in Car
A Schoharie County resident was arrested last week after State Police said she left her child unattended in an unlocked and running car while she Black Friday shopped at a Walmart.
According to the New York State Police, Angelina M. Adamovich, 33, of Schoharie, NY, was arrested last week for Endangering the Welfare of a Child after police say she left her toddler unattended as she shopped at Walmart in Cobleskill.
"It was later determined the child was allegedly left unattended in the vehicle for approximately 45 minutes while Adamovich shopped in the store." NYSP
Car Running, Doors Unlocked, Mom was Gone for 45 Minutes
Not only was the car running when police say Adamovich went inside the store on Black Friday, but the vehicle doors were unlocked, and the car was running for the 45 minutes that she went inside.
According to the State Police in Cobleskill, Adamovich tried to get away with it, and Police say she returned to the vehicle with her merchandise and left with the child before police could question her.
Police Track Her Down, Make Arrest
After Adamovich left the parking lot, State Troopers located the vehicle involved and stopped it on State Route 7 in Cobleskill, NY.
We are happy to report that the toddler was found to be in good health and was released pending further investigation.
Adamovich was arrested at her home and transported to SP Cobleskill for processing the following day. She was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Cobleskill Town Court on January 7, 2025, and released.
