Troy Farmers Market Ranked No. 1 in Country
One of the great things about the Capital Region is that we've very supportive of our local farmers and local businesses, especially when it comes to farmers' markets. So much so, that one of our local markets was rated No. 1 in the entire country!
The Troy Waterfront Farmers Market is arguably one of the most popular farmers' markets in the Capital Region. The market is open every Saturday along the waterfront from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. and they recently added Wednesdays 11:30 a.m.-7 p.m., according to the Times Union. As of October, the market moves into its winter home, the Troy Atrium, where there is discussion of keeping it year round.
The National Farmland Trust looked all over the country trying to find the best farmers' market in the entire nation. The Troy Waterfront Farmers Market not only won first place in the best in the Northeast region but also first place nationally! The Troy market received more than 100 more than its closest competitor, the Coventry Farmers Market in Connecticut.
