Threat Sent to Fulton County Sheriff’s Office About MHS

The internet, though great, can be a scary place. People will say whatever is on their mind but you never know who's dangerous or who is just hiding behind a keyboard. A threat was reported to the Fulton County Sheriff's Office via Snapchat and could also involve a high school in Rotterdam as well as Mechanicville.

According to a Facebook post by the Fulton County Sheriff's Office, they have received multiple reports of a Snapchat photo making an apparent threat at "MHS" that has been not only circulated around Fulton County but nationwide. Mayfield High School, the "MHS" that Fulton County would be referring to, and the Sheriff's Office have been looking into this threat.

The post itself has been verified having started in Virginia with Monticello High School and is not directly meant for any "MHS" schools in the Capital Region (Mechanicville High School, Mohonasen High School, etc). There isn't any evidence that any school in the Capital Region is in danger but there will be members of the Sheriff's Office on hand at Mayfield High School today just as a precaution.
