Sometimes you really do catch a rising star at just the right time.

When I contacted Stony Creek Records to inquire if their new huband and wife duo Thompson Square would like to play one of WGNA Rising Stars Concert Series Acoustic shows at the GE Theater in Proctors they were ecstatic to take the opportunity.

The were a brand new, uncharted act and I had listened to a few of their songs.  They had stopped in at the station last September to play a few acoustic songs for me in the conference room which were awesome.

Their current single "Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not" is in the top 10 and rising fast. The song really hits home with married and committed couples who remember how that first kiss was an icebreaker but hard to plan.

Thompson Square is going to be big in the country music scene and we are so glad that they will have a sold out show when they come to town with WGNA on March 10th.

Their new song is my 8 year old daughter Cassie's favorite right now and she always yells for me to come in and watch the video when it pops up on GAC and CMT.

I sent Thompson Square a text message last night to let them know they were sold out, and they shot me one right back saying they can't wait to get here and play for WGNA's listeners.

I asked them what they were up to, and they said that they were getting ready to jump on a plane to fly to Los Angeles so they can perform live on 'The Tonight Show" with Jay Leno on NBC.

My, how quick they've grown up. I feel like a proud Papa.
