2021 was a year unlike any other in the world of sports.

The world as a whole was coming off of a 2020 year that changed our lives forever. Entire grades of students had their athletic seasons cancelled, some seeing their interscholastic athletic careers coming to a premature close.

2021 was a year of getting back to normal, or, at least trying to do so. Masks went on, masks came off, mandates were enacted, rules changes, distanced socialized.

Most importantly, however, 2021 was a year in which we came back together with our fellow sports fan, even if it was temporary, or from a distance. Fans returned to the Times Union Center, Tom & Mary Casey Stadium, the Joe, the Cool Insuring Arena and more, eager to cheer on their teams.
