It is the first day of the Major League Baseball postseason today.  Finally, after that lengthy 162 game season, we have some high pressure playoff baseball.  There are so many intriguing matchups which includes two of our biggest regional sports teams of interest, the New York Mets and the New York Yankees.  The Mets host the Padres in a best of three National League Wildcard format which is brand new for the MLB.  The Yankees have a first round bye and will host the winner of the Rays and Guardians AL Wildcard series.

The Yankees had an incredible first half finishing with a 64-28 record.  That then changed into playing below .500 baseball and a 99-63 overall record entering the ALDS.  Obviously Aaron Judge had a historic season hitting 62 homeruns with 131 RBIs.  He led the team and the American League in almost every offensive category except batting average, but he still hit .311.  The Yankees will host the first two games at Yankee Stadium which will be the first home playoff games for the franchise since Game 5 of the 2019 ALCS.  It will absolutely be rocking.
