The Big Rigs of Saratoga County will be Out on Display at a Future Free Event!

Most little kids - and a lot of big ones too - love playing with and interacting with trucks.  Big, powerful vehicles tend to be very sensorily engaging, and I know my son, who is 7, loves to race, crash, and even send them flying through the air.  And in-person, he's even more captivated by the sheer size, sound, and structure of most semis.

"DPW Big Truck Day is an opportunity for the public to learn more about the DPW fleet of vehicles and how they provide services that keep our City running. I'm very excited to show off our fleet and have the community learn more about DPW!" Saratoga Springs DPW Facebook

In a few days, midweek on Tuesday, August 16th, the Saratoga County Department of Public Works is hosting a free "Big Truck Day" where they're encouraging families to come out to the Weibel Ave Ice Rink parking lot from noon-4 pm - and it's all free!

According to a post on their Facebook page, the DPW will be busting out the big boys on Tuesday and some of the DPW fleets in the lineup will include a dump truck, street sweeper, loader, bucket truck, vactor truck, tractor, pickup trucks, skid steer, and the flower truck.

The idea behind this free event for the public, is to get up and close and personal with the vehicles - as well as the faces behind them - and learn about the different services they provide to keep Saratoga Springs running.
