Teen Allegedly Pepper Sprayed People At Albany Area Mall

A teen is in some trouble with the law, after she was caught for allegedly shoplifting, and then allegedly used pepper spray on several people in Crossgates Mall.

17-year-old Rayonna Ward from Albany was arrested on Friday when Loss Prevention Officers in Macy’s tried to detain her for shoplifting and then allegedly pepper sprayed them. She also allegedly pepper sprayed a shopper and another Macy’s employee.

In the story from News 10 ABC, Ward was finally taken into custody with the assistance of an off duty police officer, who received an injured wrist while he was helping arrest her.

Ward is facing several charges including Criminal Possession Of Burglary Tools and Burglary In The Third Degree.

Authorities say that she has other outstanding warrants in Albany and Guilderland.
