Tear it Down! Barstool CEO has Big Plans for $1.5M Saratoga Home
Barstool Sports CEO, Dave Portnoy
It's no secret how much Dave Portnoy, the President and CEO of Barstool Sports, loves Saratoga Springs.
If you follow him on socials, you know that he's constantly talking and tweeting about the nightlife, the restaurants, the people, the pizza, and of course, the racing in Saratoga Springs.
"Portnoy is an avid fan of racing at Saratoga and the property abuts the Oklahoma Training Track. Plans show a proposed patio with a swimming pool, grill, bar, and outdoor television just feet from the track." -The Times Union
Portnoy's House in Toga
Portnoy, who has been coming up to the Saratoga Race Course with his family ever since he was a kid, purchased the 1,500-square-foot house back in March.
And recently, El Presidente announced plans to demo and rebuild the ranch house at 70 Fifth Ave, according to a report in the Times Union.
Portnoy's love affair with Upstate NY is no secret. He says Saratoga Springs is one of his favorite places on Earth, and if he gets his way with the zoning board, he may love it here even more.
Demo and Rebuild
According to the Times Union, "plans filed with the city's Zoning Board of Appeals show Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy would like to demolish the 1,500-square-foot home he bought earlier this year and replace it with a new four-bedroom house."
According to the report, the zoning board has the proposal on its agenda for its Monday meeting at 6:30 p.m.
Upgrades will include a "proposed patio with a swimming pool, grill, bar, and outdoor television just feet from the track."
